GetLiving is the build-to-rent operator that owns and manages most of East Village. Here’s how to navigate living with them.

The GetLiving app

The app is the main way to:

  • Pay rent
  • Log maintenance requests
  • Contact your building team
  • Access documents (tenancy agreement, welcome pack)
  • Report communal issues

Download from the App Store or Google Play — search “GetLiving”.

Maintenance

Log all maintenance issues through the app, not by phone or email. This creates a record and helps you escalate if they’re slow to respond.

Emergency maintenance (e.g. gas leak, flooding): Call the emergency line listed in your tenancy agreement — or 999 if it’s life-threatening.

Communal issues (lifts, lobby, hot water affecting multiple flats): Flag as communal rather than individual — faster response.

Rent

Rent is typically collected by Direct Debit on the 1st of each month. You can view your statement in the app.

If you’re having trouble paying rent, contact GetLiving early — they do have a process for hardship cases.

Renewals and rent reviews

GetLiving sends renewal offers typically 3 months before your contract end. Rents are reviewed annually. You can negotiate — especially if you’ve been a good tenant and the market has softened.

Noise and neighbour complaints

Log via the app. If urgent (ongoing party at 2am), call the concierge directly.

Concierge

Most East Village buildings have a concierge desk in the lobby. They can:

  • Accept parcels
  • Let in tradespeople
  • Answer building queries
  • Contact security

Hours vary by building — check with yours.
